I am a x-10 wacko (my wife would say). I have replaced all the switches in the house, and use a CM11 from the active home kit to interface to the computer. Keep in mind these are all RF. The IR interface is another piece. If your computer is going to be out of the loop you will need that interface as well.

FYI the CM11a is also the interface which hooks to the RCA DSS systems and uses its menu system to drive it. I have a slinke on the way, and look forward to using it as well.

X-10.com is always running specials. About the best deal you should expect is: ~$50 for the Active Home kit 1 or more of the following spiffs (usually 2): Their universal remote (not stellar but it does both the RF for X-10 and a decent job of controlling other things Their Palm Pad controller (wives like these because you can label the buttons)
