I am controlling an RCA Sat Rcvr through the Serial Port. I have been told that all SAT rcvrs that are "blessed" by Direct TV use the same codes for their RS232 port. That is why TiVo does need to know whose SAT rcvr you are using. I will send the RS232 codes and protocol to any who drop me an email at home. I have them in a single page document with wiring info. It really is quite simple. Rumor has it that you can do very interesting things (good and bad, legal and illegal) through the low speed Rs232 Port. I have not ventured there.
