Bill, The best way to do this is to first place your slinke with your receiver by using cat-5 as set out in the cdj help file. You then connect your receiver to the slinke through the control-a1 input. I simply daisied mine through the cd player but you could do it separate. You then create a device file for controlling your receiver by using ampsls.cde. You can do it with any remote but I simply used a Sony remote that came with a dss unit which controlled vcr, tv and dss and create a device file for this particular remote. If you don't use a sony remote then you just use a device file for the remote you do choose. You then determine what buttons you want to control and go to the maps file and code in the remote buttons in conjunction with functions in the ampsls.cde device file. Effectively, you are using the control-a1 port on the receiver just like Gil Diaz is doing with his converter, the only difference being that instead of utilizing an infrared control-s in on a sony device you are using the slinke infrared in and instead of using his converter box you are using cdj to convert the signal to control-a1. This may not be exactly what you are looking for but has been well documented in this forum and others the visiontouch receivers use an infrared frequency that cannot be learned by any remote that I know of except for the new RTI remote which is $649. Effectively, by using the slinke you can pretty much use any remote to control your visiontouch receiver for far less than $649. Hope this helps.
