Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #8 Re: X-10 FrustrationsPosted By: Dennis Laslo <dlaslo@e...> In Response To: X-10 Frustrations (George Mayleben)
Did you test you X-10 hardware in the same area as your PC? Have you tried other household 110 VAC plugs? X-10 is sometimes troublesome around PC's and may require noise filters (if your interested - I'll dig up some web URL's on this subject). Also, in my house about 30% of the outlets don't work (a 3-phase problem). This is another common problem fixable via fuse box hardware. Or you can temporarily fix it by turning on a three phase device (oven, dryer, etc). My X-10 controller (JDS) receives IR commands - so I use Slink-e indirectly...I just blast an IR to by X-10 hardware rather than a direct serial hookup and thus haven't yet tried what your doing.
