That's because using_player[] is a playlist controller message. CDJ isn't "using" the player - you are :) I understand where you're coming from, but it doesn't really fit into the logic, especially with a new playlist controller I just wrote which can put pauses between songs (in this case the using_player[] comes much before the item becomes playing[]). I could make the playing[] reposnse create a using_player[] response as well, but that would be redundant in the normal case and cause people's maps for these things to execute twice. I'll see if I can come up with something better.
