All modern DSS receivers that have a low speed port obey the same RS232 control protocol. This means that instaead of messing around with open loop IR, you can connect a DSS receiver to a serial port and control it with positive acknowledgement of every command. I am doing it with a 3rd generation RCA rcvr. I am told that unlike IR, all of the RS232 control codes obey a single protocol definition. If you are interested I will drop any one who emails a copy of the protocol spce or they can hunt for it on the web as i did. If you want I will also send the VB source for a sample program to demonstrate the use of rs232 with an RCA rcvr that should work with all and any. Responses To This Message
