slink to IR routing

Can SLink-e be setup to route slink signals to IR?
The idea is to mimic the Xantech IR modem. Basically, they take slink signals and modulate to send on IR. This way the slink out of a Sony TV can be used as the IR receiver for non-Sony components or non slink capable components behind closed doors.
This way the installation will be much cleaner.
