I see what you are getting caught up on. Only IR and S-Link transmissions have a true packet format where there is a length coded into the header and a EOT character after the last packet. For things like configuration and settings you just address the port they apply to and send the command. In this case you only need to send two bytes: 0xFF (system "port" command to follow (3 MSBs = port7 = system, 5 LSBs = 31 = command [values of 1-30 a reserved for transmission length info, 0 is for transmission terminator]) 0x0C (get serial number) aka 255 12 Colby Responses To This Message
