I nievly purchased the Opcode SONICport only to discover that it can't be used as an A/D or D/A in the sence that the signal must pass thru the PC (which really sucks when I'm debugging :)
I bought a Roland UA-30 instead which besides having optical in & out, coax in and out, line in and out, and a guitar in, provides the internal topology that I wanted, namely that it has a mixer so that I can mix in my PC sound...
It is a bit more expensive, but it does what I wanted.
