I seem to remember reading a while back that not all CD players will pass the DTS bitstream through their digital output unmodified; that these players "clean up" or otherwise modify the output stream under the assumption that it's normal CD audio and in doing so render it unrecognizable by downstream processors. Even some high-end players do this. I haven't tried playing DTS discs with my CDP-CX90ES or CDP-CX88ES yet but I'm hoping they pass the streams correctly so I can make up multi-channel surround playlists. Anyone figured out how to get Slink-E to control a laser light show ;-)
