1. Hook it to a separate port. If you hook one player up as slave to another player on the same Slinke port, the master player will try to send control commands to the slave that conflict with the commands CDJ is sending. To do its job of getting disks queued up in proper order, etc. etc., CDJ needs complete control over the players. Hooking players up as master/slave will wipe out much of the functionality for which you bought Slinke to begin with. As an alternative, you can set up a relay system that breaks the master/slave link when CDJ is running, but that has always struck me as fiendishly complicated and not worth it.

2. The Sony manual is right on this issue. With the 300-disk players, unfortunately, you can't run audio through them unless your second player is hooked up to the 300 as a slave. Sony apparently added a relay or an active mixer of some sort to the 300-disk players that stops audio from just passing through. This was not true with the 200-disk models, and if you have one of those with a second set of inputs for a second player, you *can* hook it up the other way: run outputs from the 300 through the 200, then run the 200 into your receiver. Assuming that's not your configuration, your only choice right now is to use a mixer, either a home-built model (Colby has plans on the site somewhere) or a commercial line-level mixer. Soon you should have another choice, which is the DXS switch Colby is building. A whole lot of us are planning to use that.
