You have to specify the device file.

Here is part of my map:-

cdjr:pre_startup {}

cdjr:startup {rotel:cd}

cdjr:using_player[cd1] {}

cdjr:vol_up {rotel:vol+}

cdjr:vol_down {rotel:vol-}

djr:mute_on {rotel:mute}

cdjr:mute_off {rotel:mute}

rotel is the device file (don't forget to load in CDJ using options) vol+, vol- etc are remote comands.
