Permission Denied Errors

Colby or anyone:
I am writing an app that displays the images associated with the playing track and intermittently get "permission denied" errors (about half the time) when I try to open the files.
Does CDJ open the image file on the current track, even when the CDJ image viewer is closed? What else could cause the error? I can increase or decrease the frequency of the error on how quickly I attempt to load the image once Slinkx delivers the "playing[" string.
Anyone got an answer?
