I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but if you have a device which is putting out IR continuously (as some keyboards do), Slinkeserv will be continuously tied up trying to process the incoming IR which may make it unresponsive. Better than taping over a receiver, you can just disable it in Slinkeserv.
