Auto. Interface - I did the search, now how do I get the results to the playlist?

Like many others I am writing my own simplified GUI (based on the CD Automation example app). I realize that I can create a playlist in CDJ then load & play it from my app but this requires you to rebuild your playlists every time you add CDs. I want to be able to have a button (say Jazz) that, when pressed does a DB search (keyword=jazz)and then dynamically build the playlist based on this. I implemented the button and the search (verified it's working in CDJ as the search window is shown with my results) but cannot seem to get CDJ to play selections from the search results. Anyone know what my problem is? And, is this great fun, or what? ;-)
