It's in the works, trust me :) I've just been a little bogged down lately. When it's ready, I'm sure you'll be happy with it as it will do all the things you mention and more.
FYI, you can at least in a crude way skip unwanted tracks in a playlist with you remote. Simply hit the stop button for that player and CDJ will stop playing that track and move on to the next one.
