Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #2 Control-S with Sony DSSPosted By: Peter Hansen <peter.hansen@t...> I am successfully using my Sony HI8 EV-C100 using Control-S (as opposed to IR) with my Slink-e. I would like to do the same with my Sony SAT-B2 DSS, but it does not respond to Control-S using the same control sequences as I use for IR. In addition, the SAT-B2 behaves strangely with IR binary sequences that use the "sonyir.cde" include file. Commands such as "ch+", "ch-", "power", and the digits work perfectly reliably via IR. Commands such as "Menu", "Display", "power_on" only work if I use IR with lowlevel codes learned from E-Z Learn. I notice that the DSS uses 15 bit codes, as opposed to the normal 12. Just to add to the confusion, I have had even less luck with my DVP-S7000 DVD player which uses 20-bit IR codes. There seems to be something strange about these newer devices that use IR codes with more than 12 bits. Despite these problems, my Slink-e works great with traditional 12-bit devices such as my XBR TV via IR, and DA90ESG receiver via S-Link. I wonder if anyone has any experience in these areas. Also, I am interested in sharing codes with folks that have any of these devices. Responses To This Message
