I don't think this is specific to the Slinke control; I tried using Microsoft's NetClip sample program with much the same results. I've got a call in to Microsoft to see what's up, but in the meantime, if anyone figures this out...
It looks like you have to use the tunneling option to avoid port 135; the connection-oriented option apparently still uses 135 to instantiate the control, then another port to communicate on (I'm not sure on this, but that's the way the docs on www.mircosoft.com/com read).
I'll post more if/when I get it figured out.
