CDJ lock up

I've had a Slink-e for a while (doing a homebrew project) but just recently started using CDJ. (the 10/13/00 version)

Had an interesting lock-up last night - CDJ was just about completely unresponsive, though some UI elements were alive. Both changers were stuck in pause mode.

I looked at the "event log" display and saw that CDJ was issuing "fade_up 5" messages, with the CD changer giving a error result many many times per second (the slinke busy light was pretty much solid yellow).

The CD changer is a CDP-153, which does not support the fade commands (I know this from my own homebrew project). I also have a CDP-250.

It appears that CDJ gets into a loop when the "fade" command fails. The workaround is fairly simple - I disabled crossfade by setting the fade numbers to zero and everything worked fine.

But it is a bug...

After monkeying around for over a year on my own project, I am completely overwhelmed by how well CDJ works...
