Receiving messages from cdj

Hello,

I'm trying my hand at CDJ automation. This is my first project in both Python and com so I guess you could call me a newbie. Any ways I've managed to get a com object that allows me to control CDJ, doing things like searches, playing playlist and setting some modes. So now I'm trying to get some information from CDJ, and I can't figure out what to do. I thought I'd start out with an easy one by sending the searchlist_size message and checking it's return value. This just returns none ( equivalent to 0 I think ). So I'm not sure what to do. Do I need to have a cdjr device, as in the vb example? Do I need to use the SlinkeDeviceEvent? If so how? Is there any docs other then the help file out there?

I have a bunch of other questions that need answering but hopefully as I get further along I'll be able to answer those myself. Is it better to ask technical programming questions here or in the email list?
