Slink-e software

Built a 2.0 kit, Installed all the software avaiable on the web page on NT workstation 4.0, sp3. Following problems occured:

I have 6 serial ports, only 1 to 4 are supported.

C: disk and specific paths are assumed, I use other letters. This is not just an NT issue; win 95 can use other disk letters too. I had to install on C: to make things work. On other letters, code crashed because of builtin assumptions.

More generally, I would like software that is platform independent and based on open standards. I am willing and able to work towards that goal. What other interest is there?
