Ok, that seems to have helped. Both programs work, but there's still some strange behavior (identical for both). You're probably not going to believe this, but really, it's true.

They start up, and start slinkeserv just fine. Then a dialog box pops up, with the message "QI 00000003 00000000 000000C0 46000000". I hit OK on that, and get another, with the same message. OK. Then "QI 0000001B 00000000 000000C0 46000000". OK. Then "QI IUnk" (Ok, that almost makes sense). Ok. Then "QI 00000018 00000000 000000C0 46000000". Ok. One more like that. Ok. Then "QI IAS". Ok. Another "QI IAS". Ok. Then the program starts, and seems to be working.

I can't be sure it's working, because I'm PCAnywhere'd into the system from work, and can't fire off any IR stuff at it or watch the results. SlinkeServ does show the program connected to it, though.
