ES Receivers have a five year warranty. I don't know if that is that same for the ES cd players. I thought I had heard that all the Sony ES lines came with 5 year warranties.
Since the typical Slinke user probably does use the cd mechanics more so than the average home user, it might justify the extra expenditure for the ES model. Hmm....I might have to go talk with the wife....
