CDJ plays starts to play cd then stops

I have a Sony 300 disc changer and a newer 400 disc changer. When I start up CDJ and select random play from the play list it queues up the cd players and starts playing songs. It seems to randomly start a song and then stop after just a few seconds of the song. It changes to the other player and queues up the next song. Has any one experienced this skipping of tracks after a short playback? Thanks in advance
