Can Slink-e route IR?

Newby here. I'm thinking of purchasing Slink-e, but I'm unclear on one thing. Can it simply route IR signals from a reciever to a transmitter without having to look up IR codes on the hard drive?

The reason I ask: I want to control A/V things with my remote from various rooms. My remote has several macros, and I don't really want my computer to have to learn all the macros. If Slink-e can simply retransmit my remote to the A/V things, I wont have to teach my computer all my codes.

Of course, this is not the only reason I would buy Slink-e, otherwise I would just get an IR distribution setup.
