that's right.

but that's because the fibre is meant for data distribution and not for audio or video.

the fibre termination at the wallplate is typically an ST connector. changing ends on a fibre cable usually requires special tools

i'm still trying to picture why you would want equipment so far away from the rec./amp., wouldn't it be easier to use IR ?
