Re: sound card with digital output - which to buy?

If you are looking for a cheap way out I just picke dup the Fortissimo from Guillemont at Best Buy for $49. It's cheap, it has Toslink out and it works (I was a bit skeptical, but it does the job). I'm sure there are better, but probably not any cheaper! I have my players daisy chained into the analog in, and they mix with the MP3's onto to the computer and the whole mix goes digital out to my Minidisc recorder. If anyone gets it, my only problem was figuring out that you can not play analog line-in sources through both the analog out and the digital out at the same time (no problem for computer based Mp3's, though) so I just switch to dig-out when recording a MD and analog out when listening to my stereo.
