Play temporary CDs in CDJ?

I'm using CDJ & Slink-e with a CDP-CX450 & a CDP-CX57. I have hundreds of CDs in the CDJ database. Every now & then I want to play some CDs using CDJ without bothering with the database. So far, I haven't found any way to do that; I seem to have to search for the new CDs beforehand, then delete them afterwards; this is a hassle, especially, because CDJ seems to get confused when I delete them. Have you found a simple way to do this?

(BTW, I could just play them using the CD remote controls; but unless I close CDJ, & subsequently go through its long startup, it wants to control the players.)
