unusual app? DSC 1024HD

I am trying to use the slink-e in a multimedia playback system to automate my switching between computer and video sources. The switcher is a Sony DSC 1024HD that uses CTRL S signal via a mini-jack and can accept remote protocols from the following RM's (RM-854, RM-1271, RM-PJ1292, RM-PJ350, or RM-PJC520). All I am really interested in controlling is the input selection (1,2, or 3), and looking at some of the materials on this site quickly, it seems that I'll need to put some binary code into my application (which is Trax3 from Dataton) to build a driver for this switching. Can someone give me a bit of a kick start on this? Thanks
