I installed Office 2000 this evening and was finally able to access the database and make changes (though I have been able to change fields while in CDJ by double clicking on the field to be changed). At no time have I been given any message indicating that the problem we have been having opening the file is due to compacting the file (though this may be the case). However, I would tend to agree with Les' suggestion earlier that the template might possibly be in Office '97 format and the database in Office 2000 format. I make this suggestion because I could not open the file using Office '97 yet was forced to convert the file in order to open it in Office 2000. Neither product was entirely happy with the file.
