Player won't take text from CDJ

I have an older CDP-CX 250 (200) changer that I'm trying to download text memos into from the CDJ for a friend. I was able to queue the discs and query the names, but when I go to transfer the text from the CDJ to the player, all I get is error messages from the player. Anybody have any ideas as to the problem?
