s link for cx300

My cx300 is not accepting commands sent via slink. I'm using the cdsls.cde file. It appears as though the cx300 is echoing back the commands because they show up as a slinke event immediately after I send them. For example slinkx1.send ("cdsls","power_off") echos back as "cdslspower_off". But nothing happens with the cd player. My sony amp (daisy chained on the same circuit) responds perfectly to the ampsls.cde file.
