I think I found what I was looking for for. It is called GyroMouse Pro. It is a wireless ir mouse. It works on the desktop like a regular mouse. Off the desk, you hold it in your hand and it uses gyroscopes to follow your hand movement and control the mouse.

I was only to try it briefly because the baytteries are still charging but it worked downstairs 3 rooms away from the pc.
