I already drive the sony DVD mega changer from an Slinke through the automation interface. I drive all of my IR devices that way. I build low level IR device files on the fly from simple file descriptions and can send a program that shows how it is done. It is my test routine that builds files for all my IR controlled devices. It will isue any command to any IR device for which you can describe the IR protocol in a notation similar to the one Colby use. It is in VB6 Drop an email for the source code

The Sony DVD changer has one nasty habit. When you power it up it always tries to play the last disk that it previously played. I have yet to figure out how to stop that. My automation interface allows for the listing of all the DVD titles (from a flat ascii data base in alpha order), selecetion from the PC screen and the control of the Sony to start that disk. Not pretty but it works.
