Depending on your implementation, the new CDJID should be backward compatible. The CDJID field has always been a string field, only now the string is longer. The CDJID is still used to link track records from the track table to an album record. The schema of the database has not changed at all - only a new hash number (CDJID) is being used which is more unique that the old CDDB ID which was causing problems with duplicate discs.
