I use a little mini-laptop AmityCN from Mitsubishi, picked it up for $600 brand new on one of those action web sites - cute little thing, with 166 Mhz Pentium, 2Gig hard drive, active matrix 800x600 screen. Works great because it's small, quiet, has great sleep modes so I can leave it on all the time but it wakes up in 10 seconds. I highly recommend a similar approach, find a small laptop computer, look for cheap close-out deals.
