IR TX/RX Problems

When I connect both a Remote Receiver and Transmitter to my modular port via "Y" connection the remote Receiver stops working. If I disconnect the Remote Trasnsmitter the Remote Receiver starts working again. I have the IR(7) linked to TX(0) in the slink-e settings. The remote reciever IR(7) is on my deck. The Remote Transmitter in in the same room as my slink-e & stereo. My goal is tro use my remote on my deck. I want the signals received by the receiver retramsmitted by the transmitter in my living room.
