Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #6 CDJ source code plus other questionsPosted By: Steve <stevep@m...> Dear BBSers.. I have several questions.. 1) Is the source code that is provided with CDJ the 'complete' source code.. in otherwords could I actually re-compile the provided source to create the CDJ executable ? 2) Do I need anything besides Visual C++ to re-create the program ? 3) I have a Pioneer CAC-V3000.. which is an industrial CD jukebox. It has 2 cd players and can hold 300 discs. It's controlled through an RS-232 interface. It's one of the coolest players on the planet but at over $4,000 a unit it was a costly solution. I am now a major slinke fan.. however it hurts me to see this wonderful player collecting dust. I would love to find a way for CDJ to control it as well. Is there any clever way to define a foreign player to CDJ ? (By the way, the player does not have a remote (IR) control). I was thinking if you had some way to define a foreign player, and then CDJ when seeing that a disc was in this player it might call some software exit routine that would take over and then pass control back to CDJ somehow ? Is there any such capability in CDJ ? 4) I am expecting your answer to #3 to be no, so that is why I was asking the previous CDJ source questions.. do you see any reason why it wouldn't be possible to add logic to the source code to control this CAC-V3000 player ? 5) I have seen several postings mentioning 'Lexicon' products such as a D/A converter.. Is there a website for this company so I could get additional information ? Thanks for your help, Steve
