Been through this before. CDJ does not automatically reset the memo text and group information. Yes CDJ makes it so you don't have to put it back, however, that is what some of your users want.
The database has a field called "Location Valid". Doesn't seem to be used. Why not just use that field to indicate if the disc is missing?
Although I like CDJ, I sometimes just want to use the players standalone (the PC is in another room).
My two biggest pet peeves with CDJ are the fact that it doesn't remember where removed discs go, and the inconsistencies and bugs in the UI.
