Re: Sony 2 way remote

I use a 2-way remote that came with my STR-DA333ES receiver. The remote does recieve IR from the receiver. Since I already had a 2-way remote I decided to get a CDP-CX333ES 300 disk cd player. It is hooked to the receiver via a control A1 interface. When I want to load the CD names into my remote, I simply tell the remote to download the names. The names are sent from the cd player to the receiver via the control A1, and then on to the remote via the receiver's IR transmitter. I think the 333ES is the ES equivalant to the CPD-CX300. The CX-350 and the CX555ES come with a very similar 2-way remote, and talk to the remote directly without the receiver as a middle man.

So, yes, the 2-way remotes do indeed receive IR information. I would be interested in what you are working on. I am considering buying an slink-e but have not been able to get feedback regarding whether or not it causes problems for the 2-way remotes.
