Re: Covers

I wrote a little program that grabs covers from the AMG site. Right now it's getting a little over 70% of my covers. It also does some things like fix the album names to match AMG (CDDB is terrible) and download some other meta information into the Access database (style information and the like).

50% sounds about right without fixing CDDB's naming scheme. I've had to build a table inside of the program that has a bunch of heuristics for changing CDDB's names to AMG's names, that's how I get the higher find rate. It's optimized for my CD collection (I now have all of the covers for any of my albums that AMG has).

It's in a pretty ugly state right now (it's just been for my personal use), but I can clean it up a little this weekend and send it out if it'll be useful. I need to remove the references to my paths, straighten up the ui, move the mapping table to an external file and expose the debugging ui (so you can see why it couldn't find the picture).
