Re: Uploading text into Master memory

I know the text upload feature has been not working correctly for a while. Colby indicated that he removed the GROUP upload in the latest CDJ version (9-10-99). (The GROUP upload is quite flakey)

I tried the text upload from CDJ (9-10-99 version) with a 90ES (P1, master) and a 260 (P2, slave). I selected from (P1,D190) to (P2,D010) for the upload. The upload worked perfectly. All of the data (Disc Title, Disc Artist, Track Titles) for the 21 selected discs was uploaded correctly to the 90ES.

If you are having problems with this, you may not have your players set up correctly. You need to connect the two players in series to an slink port on the Slinke. You also need to set the command mode on the back of the master player (90ES or 270) to CD2 and the command mode on the back of the slave player to CD3 (see step 3 on page 7 of the 270/90ES user's manual). I also suggest not having anything else (such as a receiver) hooked up in series on the slink bus with the 2 players.
