DB9 to RJ45 question

Ok, did a little more research and actually sat down and thought about this a little more...

I have my computer which has a DB9F->RJ45 adapter on it. I have the SLink-E with a DB9M->RJ45 adapter on it. Do I need to reverse the TD and RD on them, so that the TD on my computer is NOT wired to the TD on the SLink-E? Is that the only change I need to make? The CAT5 cable needs to be wired just like a normal patch cable, correct?
