Slink-e / CDJ Discussion Archive #5 This is so coolPosted By: Keith Alexander <alexanders@r...> I know I am mostly talking to myself, but I must share, this is really cool. I have been playing with Slink-e all weekend and have everything working (Awesome Colby). Voice remote: I really wanted to voice control slinke, but being a multi-media env. it is naturally noisy. Solution: $9.95 FM tuner card in the PC, radio slack FM wireless mike kit (#28-4030 $11.00) and an old x-10 8 in one learning remote, and a tiny switch. It all fits right in the remote! A little muscle, imagination, and the loss of the record button (it was perfect real-estate for the mike and I never use it anyway) Warning... this probably violates your x10 warranty :*) Viola transmit as needed voice control The VB software is done (ugly but done, accurracy pleasing). Anyone who wants a more in depth description (plans, pictures, software, etc) let me know, I'll share for free. Remote-Mike is all done. Slink-e-talk software is all done (very rough cut) FM tuner card is on the way (ebay), right now I have a little ext. FM radio as receiver. BTW I showed my wife, she said "Nifty". Then I said to the remote "makeout mode" Lights dimmed (thanks x10), a smooth groove came on the cd (thanks Colby). My wife said "you are such a geek" QED: There is no WIFE.CDE Responses To This Message
