Hi,
The same thing happened to me. I looked on the Microsoft knowledgebase for the rproblem. I found a similar problem. What you should do is rename the file SHDOCUW.DLL in the windows/system dir. Then extract the version from your win98 CD. I booted using the win98 boot floppy and used the EXT program. This solution worked for me, I can now boot properly again. As far as covers, I have not got that working yet.
