I agree that the DACs are probably contributing to the problem. Since I'm after a solution to automate encoding of library, ripping the CD doesn't fit into my plans. (while it would be interesting to compare).
I'm waiting on the DXS to be able to run toslink from the changers to the dxs, then coax digital to the sblive's digital ins, thus bypassing the nasty digital-analog-digital signal path i've got now.
