Pioneer Multi-Room & RC5 Jacks

Has anyone interfaced the Ctrl-S port to a Pioneer receiver Multiroom jack. Also I've got Ctrl-S to RC5 (Marantz AV600) working, but what I'm really looking for is a way to turn a set of MA500 monoblocks on and off without using the Marantz preamp (I'm using a Pioneer VSX07-TX as a preamp) They do NOT respond to the same device/function as the preamp and so I blasted all 32 devices X 128 functions at them and got no response at all. It appears the signal from the preamp to the amps is not in RC5 format, but I don't know where to go now. Any help on either problem is appreciated.
