Slink-e Not Found

I have tried my slink-e with several computers, each with several different
serial cables (all which were working previously) and my slink-e is never found. I have tried using the slinkserv, and not, with the identical results.
The green LED does come on, and stays on steady.
When using the SlinkServ it reports
Dev: 2 Send: 2 Rec: 2
Slinkes: 0 X10: 0 DXS: 0 Users: 1
I am using SlinkServ version 1.28 build 292 dated 08/11/99
I am using CDJ version 1.30.0.1773
What can I do to test the Slink-e (or is it simply dead)?
