The Soundblaster Live is pretty darned cool, especially if you pick up the full version with the digital board, which provides SPDIF in and out. It sounds good and has good drivers (even under NT, these days).
Beyond that, if you're looking for pro audio type stuff, there are a number of multichannel digital-only and cards out there.
