IR repeater function Quits

OK what am I doing wrong or won't the slinke work this way period?
I have been trying to use the slinke as a repeater in effect for my pronto and other IR devices yet as soon as I bring up CDJ on the puter the repeater function ceases and the only way it works again seems to be to reboot the computer and not use CDJ to run the Changers. Is this an either or situation? Am I SOL? and do I have to get more equipment to do both?
